Relationship Challenges
Relationships are hard partly because we are seldom taught how to communicate, how to express our needs and how to create safe and healthy boundaries by society and oftentimes from our families. Society also teaches us that being easy-going and pleasant and presenting ourselves in ways that society deems acceptable for our gender, our culture and our age is necessary in order to maintain a sense of belonging. If we are to be accepted by others, we must do certain things, and avoid others things. This is exasperated by our own personal relational wounds that we carry from childhood and adolescence. This can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and our needs, or disconnected from others.
Together we will explore your relationship challenges, that keep you feeling disconnected, isolated, unfulfilled and misunderstood. We are social beings. As such, learning to feel connected with others is critical to our mental and physical health.
