Couples Therapy

Being in an intimate relationship is beautifully fulfilling. Our relationships bring us companionship, support, friendship and intimacy. Yet, our intimate relationships are hard to navigate alongside everyday concerns- paying bills, working, children and family. In addition to communication breakdowns, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, unmet needs and resentment.

Couples therapy provides a space to explore what is troubling you in your relationship and to make sense of what is going wrong with the help of your therapist. Couples sessions can help improve your connection with your partner and give you the skills to deal with future challenges.

Internal Family Systems

Integrative Sex Therapy

Internal Family Systems is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, which posits that individuals have various "parts" within themselves, each with its own thoughts, feelings, and motivations.

When applied to couples therapy, an exploration of how each partner's inner parts impact the relationship and how these parts interact with each other. These parts might include protective parts that get defensive, vulnerable parts that need reassurance and critical parts that find fault.

  • Sessions involve exploring how your parts interact with your partners.

  • Couples learn to recognize when their parts are triggered by each other and how these interactions escalate conflicts.

  • They work on communicating their needs and feelings from a more grounded and aware state, rather than reacting from triggered parts.

*Sessions can include discussions of sexual concerns, however, I do not provide exclusive Sex Therapy. I am a certified Sex Therapy Informed Therapist.

Healthy sexuality is an important part of a fulfilling relationship. Integrative Sex Therapy integrates different therapeutic approaches to address sexual concerns within couples therapy that include emotional, relational, and psychological aspects of sexuality.

  • Enhance eroticism, intimacy and passion.
